Day 10: TINICUM-part I

Tinicum Township is located in Deleware County, Pennsylvania, a stones throw away from the Philadelphia International Airport. The airport, through loopholes and legislation has found a way to demolish around eighty Tinicum homes to expand their runways, saving commuters about 15 minutes delay.

Today I tagged along with a documentary film crew and took pictures from a parade they've thrown in protest of the project. I can honestly say that after spending the day in this small town I not only support their cause, but genuinely feel the pride and outrage of a Tinicum citizen. The people are great and care about their community in a way I believed had vanished in an era long ago.

Throughout the week I'll be painting a portrait of the town and its residents, leaders, and the documentary film crew. Hope you guys enjoy!

Day 8: THE GATES ARE CRUMBLING... Protect Your Garden From Those Delinquents!

Decided to play with black and white on this one.
Just a side note, I'm a bit colorblind, so I like to invert the hues in my pictures to make certain details stand out a little better. Sometimes I wonder if the way I'm viewing these posted pictures is the way most people see reality and if to them, this is (even more)cartoonishly exaggerated.
.
Either way, I feel we can afford to view the world through an Oz-like lens sometimes.

Day 7: Hot Damn Tiger! I Like Them Stripes...

Here's an old one I took off of my long defunct camera phone in Erie. I like it, even if it is a little creepy.
Actually, thats probably exactly why i like it haha
Also, I guess this makes one week of posting!
51 to go...

Day 4: Bumper Cars, Sunday Moons and Pixilated Easter Parties

Its been a pretty active weekend, so I'm gonna post a few more today. Beginning to understand the nightlife in this city a little better and I have a feeling bar culture is going to be a recurring theme to this blog.

This morning two of my new friends Heather and Emily threw a secular spectacular Easter brunch and everyone exchanged haikus about bloody rabbit ears and bat boxes. I met a lot of really great people and hope to see more of them soon.
Also, Heather is a champ with a hula hoop.

Day 2: Namesake and Other Found Things in the City

So this is where the blog gets its name from. This picture was taken about a week ago and was graffitied in chalk outside my bedroom window. Last week we had one monster of a rainstorm that almost completely washed it out. When the sun came up that morning the only thing remaining was the word "HUNT." It inspired me to constantly view the world with open eyes. Adventures out there and if I can just go out of my way, to take a different way to work more often, to turn off the TV and go for a walk, I'll be able to save a fraction of the sublime, busy chaos that occurs in city life. I'm not trying to be an artist or anything; I just want to be the guy whose constantly taking pictures. Hope you enjoy!

Not sure who Caroline is but my roommate found this on 47th and Woodland and now its hanging in our hallway. For the record, it appears to be written on the introduction to Shakespeare's Julius Caeser. I hope that means something haha.
